Nutella lovers, breakfast lovers and dessert lovers, I bring to you...  "Nutella" Overnight Dessert Oats!

A breakfast so rich, so creamy and oh so chocolatey.
A breakfast so satisfying, so nutritious and oh so easy to make.

Imagine waking up in the morning with this in your fridge.  You might actually have trouble falling asleep after smelling its sweet hazelnut aroma.  But when you finally do, you will dream of all things good

...  and all things chocolate

...  these are the dreams I covet.

But this is not a dream, it's reality.

You can indulge in a healthy dessert for breakfast, even though it tastes so incredibly unhealthy.
You can satisfy your morning sweet tooth with no guilt at all!
Too good to be true, you say?  Nonsense.  Look at the ingredient list!

"Nutella" Overnight Dessert Oats:  [sugar free, high fiber/protein, GF, vegan]
(serves one seriously lucky person)
Step 1:
1/2 cup Old Fashioned Rolled Oats (GF if you like)
1 tbs Natural Hazelnut Butter (no sugar/salt/oil added)
   1/3-1/2 cup Unsweetened Almond Milk
Step 2:
one 32g scoop Chocolate Protein Powder
1 tbs Regular Cocoa Powder (unsweetened)
   1 tbs Ground Flaxseed
   2-5 packets Sweetener*
   1/16 tsp Salt

*I used 6 stevia packets (really sweet, even for me, so I recommend 2-5), but Truvia, erythritol, xylitol, sucanat, or homemade brown sugar would be great here!

Directions:
1.  In a medium-sized serving bowl, add the Step 1 ingredients and stir
2.  Add the Step 2 ingredients and stir again.  Cover with plastic wrap and let sit in the fridge overnight.  Enjoy first thing in the morning!

Feel free to sprinkle on some mini chocolate chips and/or chopped hazelnuts.

The flax made this super creamy and fudgy, it was like real Nutella was used!
Yeah... this is definitely going to be my new breakfast for the next month week...

  2. I have everything on the ingredients list except protein powder. Can I just leave that out or should I substitute something?

    1. Digigirl- The protein powder provides sweetness and a creamy texture, so if you omit it you will most likely have to add more sweetener, cocoa powder (1-2 tbs) and flax (maybe just 1 tbs). You can give it a tiny taste the night before and make any adjustments from there.
      Hope this works! :)

  3. Hey there,

I just wanted to let you know that Ive been following your blog for quite a while now making most of your cookie dough dip recipes and loving them all. I made this and your oatmeal raisin dessert oats recipes last week and they were soooo good. I can honestly say that they were the best of all of the recipes Ive tried from you. I could not believe that what I was eating was actually good for me. It tasted sooooo delish and sinful! ;) So, what I wanted to say is: THANK YOU and keep up the good work! :)
I dont use protein powder, so I subbed in a mix of rice flour, cocoa powder and a tiny bit of a sugar sub to make up for it.
